Start Valentine’s Day by making your pooch a hearty breakfast

Ingredients

  • 2 slices toast
  • 1 poached egg
  • 1 tbs black cherry preserve

Method

  1. Fill a skillet with about an inch of water, bring to the boil. Put a heart-shaped cookie cutter into the water and crack egg into the cookie cutter. Turn the heat down and cook until done.
  2. Lightly toast two slices of whole wheat bread. When done, place heart shaped cookie cutter on the bread, press down and pass sharp knife around the outside of the cookie cutter so that your are left with a heart shaped piece of toast.
  3. Lightly butter one piece and place poached egg on top. Spread the other piece with preserve. Allow egg to cook and serve to pooch.
